I’ve always been very impressed by the hinting on web FontFonts. Are these fonts similarly hinted as a rule or is it up to individual studios? Alternatively, Is there any way to get a live preview of what they look like in the browser?
Hi Christopher. Thanks. We think FontFont’s hinting is pretty great too.
The fonts in question are made by taking the TrueType fonts supplied by the foundries and applying the appropriate wrapper to create .woff or .eot Lite webfonts. More to your question—the hinting is done by the individual foundries.
We presently don’t have a system in place for previewing the faces as rendered by different OSes or browsers, though we do have something in the works.
